COVID-19: Positivity rate alarming 19.60% in Delhi, 20,318 new cases in Mumbai

Delhi recorded 20,181 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, January 8, which is the highest increase in a single day since May 5. In the national capital, 7 corona infected have died in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate has reached an alarming 19.60 percent.

On the other hand, 20,318 corona cases were registered in Mumbai (Mumbai), which is called the financial capital of the country, in the last 24 hours on Saturday, 8 January, which is slightly less than yesterday's 20,971. During this there were 5 Covid-19 related deaths in the city.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had predicted that there will be more than 20,000 Covid cases in the national capital today and as per official figures, 20,181 fresh cases were registered in Delhi.

Delhi recorded 17,335 fresh Covid cases on Friday, January 7, which is the highest single-day increase since May 8, 2021. On Thursday, 6 January, 15,097 infections were registered in the city.

Currently, the number of active cases in Delhi is 48,178, out of which 25,909 patients are in home isolation. Also, the recovery rate in the city is 95.19%.It has been said in the Health Bulletin that about 88.76 percent beds are vacant in Covid dedicated hospitals. It states that 84.85 percent beds in the Covid Care Center are vacant.

In the last 24 hours, 20,318 cases have been reported in Mumbai. Of the total cases, 82% are asymptomatic, down from yesterday's 84%. According to the official data released today, 1,257 Covid patients are hospitalized and 108 of them are on oxygen support.
