Covid-19: Are smokers more prone to infection than others?
Though this is a debatable issue yet health experts agree that Covid-19 can cause health complications to smokers that are far more severe than any other healthy person.

Can people, who smoke a lot, contract the SARS-Cov-2 virus faster than any other person?
Though this is a debatable issue yet health experts agree that Covid-19 can cause health complications to smokers that are far more severe than any other healthy person.
The SARS-Cov-2 virus is responsible for the lung disease known as Covid-19.
Though smoking is associated with a plethora of health issues yet Covid-19 makes smokers prone to other health complications, health experts believe.
The World Health Organisations (WHO) has recently started an awareness campaign among people who are addicted to smoking.
The world health body has given over 100 instances to encourage people to quit smoking as it believes that tobacco has an adverse impact on the body.
Scientific researches have suggested that smokers have the presence of ACE2 receptors in their nose and mouth more than any other person.
ACE2 is also called angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. It is a kind of protein that exists on the surface of many cells.
They are like spikes in their structure and the SARS-Cov-2 gets attached to them. It acts as a receptor or a stepping stone for making an entry into the nose and mouth and then into the lungs.
Once the SARS-Cov-2 virus binds with ACE2, it stops from performing its normal functions.
A section of scientists believes that smokers are prone to the infection because of the higher presence of ACE2 in their mouth and nose.
At the same time, some studies also suggest that there is no conclusive evidence to definitely say more ACE2 in the mouth or nose means early infection.
