Court sentenced MLA Mamta Devi to five years in jail
Arguing on the statement of Virendra, Shankar Banerjee, appearing for the defence, said that the court has merit regarding the hearing and the Supreme Court has nowhere said that the hearing cannot be held. In the court, the defense side cited Mamta Devi's small child.

The MP MLA court on Tuesday awarded two sentences of five years each to Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi under different sections. With this, it has been decided that Mamta Devi will go to the Legislature. The court has also sentenced BJP leader Rajeev Jaiswal to five years in the Arms Act. In August 2016, in the famous Gola Goli case of Ramgarh, the MLA here, Mamta Devi, was sentenced in a hearing held through video conferencing. In this case, all the 13 convicts, including BJP leader Rajeev Jaiswal, have been sentenced to five years. Along with this, a fine of ten thousand rupees has also been imposed.
In this case, the court convicted all the 13 accused including BJP leader Rajeev Jaiswal. Regarding this, the sentence was to be pronounced in the Hazaribagh MP MLA court on Tuesday at 11:45 am. The sentence was argued by advocate Virender Kumar, on behalf of the defense side, and advocate Shankar Banerjee, on behalf of the government.
