According to the Northern Command of the Indian Army, citizens in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday took out a candle march in memory of the first CDS General Bipin Rawat on his first death anniversary. The candle march was taken out at Cariappa Park, Baramulla. Northern Command officials say citizens from all walks of life gathered to pay homage to their former GOC. Indian Army officials say that as the first Chief of Defense Staff, General Bipin Rawat took bold decisions to protect the borders. The morale of the armed forces has always been strong and high due to his decisions. Senior army officers said that on the first death anniversary of General Bipin Rawat, Geetika Lidder paid floral tributes to General Bipin Rawat and the people killed in the helicopter crash with him at the National War Memorial on behalf of all.
