He passed away on August 24, 2019.
On his birth anniversary, many political leaders have paid their tributes and remembered him.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Remembering my friend, Arun Jaitley Ji on his birth anniversary.”
PM Modi added, “His warm personality, intellect, legal acumen and wit are missed by all those he closely interacted with. He worked tirelessly for India’s progress.”
Home Minister Amit Shah called him an outstanding parliamentarian and tweeted, “Remembering a great friend, Shri Arun Jaitley ji on his jayanti. He was an outstanding parliamentarian, whose knowledge and insights had very few parallels.”
Shah added. “He made a lasting contribution to Indian polity and served the nation with great passion & devotion. My heartfelt tributes.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while remembering Arun Jaitley said that he was a seasoned leader, parliamentarian, lawyer and also a scholar.
