Mumbai police have raided two footwear shops in the Thane Nagar area and seized a huge cache of counterfeit footwear products of well-known brand Relaxo.
Relaxo is the most trusted and popular brand in India and that’s the reason counterfeiters target it to make quick money.
Aware of its popularity, the company takes all necessary precautions to ensure that the customers get the quality product and don’t get cheated.
The company has taken the services of SM Hussain IPR Protection Agency to keep a watch on its supply chain. SM Hussain IPR firm conducts continuous market surveillance across the country to keep a watch on the sale purchase activities of the product.
Of late, during one of such surveillances, the officials of IPR firm came to know that two shops – Samrat and President footwears - in the Thane Nagar area were indulged in suspicious activities.
They used to procure the fake products of Relaxo’s two most popular brands - Spark and Sparx – and sold them to the customers to make quick money.
Working on the clues, the IPR protection firm collaborated with the Thane Nagar police station and raided the two shops.
It seized a huge cache of the counterfeit version of Spark and Sparx. The police have lodged an FIR and arrested Sameer Ramzan Ansari and Mahesh Tikamdas Magvani, owners of Samrat and President footwears respectively.
Syed Mashkur Hussain, who heads the IPR firm, says that this is a remarkable achievement and his firm will continue to ensure that not a single pair will be counterfeited and sold in the country.
“We carry out our surveillance activities across the country and have been very successful in curbing counterfeit activities. Relaxo is among such companies that believe in serving its customers in the best possible manner,” Hussain said.
