Corruption reduced by 94 percent in E-Ticketing, last year a total of 4430 cases were registered

To save train passengers from touts and to make the ticket reservation process more convenient, Railways has taken several initiatives. Railways were getting maximum complaints of increasing malpractices in e-ticketing. In view of this, the Railways has made the system more secure. Its effect is also visible. Registered cases of malpractices related to e-tickets have come down by 94 per cent within a year.
A total of four thousand 430 cases of touting of e-ticketing were registered in the Railways during the last financial year, but this year the number is only 267. Compared to the previous year, it is only around six percent. In the case of malpractice in e-ticketing, maximum number of complaints have been coming in Northern and Western Railway. Last year, more than 600 complaints were received in both these zones. But this time in both the above zones this figure is less than hundred. Last year, only 93 cases were registered in South Eastern Railway and 117 in North Central.

If someone inquires more than 25 times between eight and 12 in the morning, then he is also stopped. Junk mail id and address based fake id are also removed. Similarly, now only if the user ID is linked with Aadhaar, one can book up to a maximum of 24 e-tickets in a month. If the link is not there then a maximum of 12 tickets can be made. In view of the problems of passengers, Railways is going to increase the capacity of issuing tickets by ten times. Now 25 thousand tickets can be booked per minute. But in the new system this number will increase to 2.5 lakh. Preparations are on to increase the inquiry capacity from four lakh to 40 lakh per minute.
