Corona scare again: Covid variant with multiple mutations found in South Africa, scientists demand WHO to call emergency meeting
Scientists have named it B.1.1.529 and have described it as a variant of concern. Along with this, there has been a demand to convene an emergency meeting of WHO

Scary news has come out from South Africa regarding the new variant of Corona. The country's virologist Tulio de Oliveira told the media on Thursday that a Covid variant with multiple mutations has emerged in South Africa.
Scientists have named it B.1.1.529 and have described it as a variant of concern. Along with this, there has been a demand to convene an emergency meeting of WHO. Oliveira further said that the biggest reason behind the increasing number of new corona patients in South Africa is the variant with multiple mutations.
Some similar infections have been found in South African citizens in Botswana and Hong Kong. Let us tell you that last year the beta variant of Corona was also found in South Africa for the first time. Later it spread all over the world.
Scientists from South Africa have demanded an immediate meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) working group on the effect of the B.1.1. South Africa's National Institute for Communicable Diseases said that we currently have limited data. Our scientists are constantly working to understand the new variant. Scientists believe that Gautang province, which is the country's most populous state, may have 90% of new cases of B.1.1.1.529. Another variant C.1.2 was revealed in South Africa this year. However it was not that effective.
