Three cases of BA.4 subtype and one case of BA.5 subtype of the Omicron form of coronavirus infection have been reported in Mumbai and all these patients have recovered from the disease. The Health Department of Maharashtra gave this information on Monday. The ba.4 and ba.5 are sub-variants of the highly infectious Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The third wave of the global pandemic had come due to Omicron in the country.
The Health Department said that a report of the laboratory of Kasturba Hospital, run by the Municipal Corporation, has confirmed the presence of BA.4 subtype in three patients and BA.5 in one patient. He said that two of these four patients were girls. And there are two men. The age of girls is 11 years and that of men is between 40 to 60 years. "All the patients have completed the period of home isolation and have recovered from the disease," the department said.
Significantly, the cases of corona are increasing in the country too. In the last 24 hours, 8,084 new cases of corona were reported in India. On the other hand, if we talk about the recovery rate, then it is 98.68%. The daily positivity rate is 3.24% while the weekly positivity rate is 2.21%. In the last 24 hours, 4,592 people were cured of the corona, while talking about the total number of people who have been cured so far, is 4,26,57,335. Talking about active cases, their number is 47,995.
