Corona cases crossed 2 thousand again, there was a decrease in active cases, reduced to 15,419

The Union Health Ministry has issued an update on Thursday morning regarding the latest situation of Corona in the country. According to the ministry, 2,364 new cases of corona infection were registered in the last 24 hours. There has been an increase of 535 patients in corona cases on Wednesday as compared to yesterday i.e. Tuesday. On Wednesday, 1829 cases of corona were reported in the country.

The ministry said that during this time 2,582 people have also been cured of corona while 10 people have died. Of the ten infected, six are from Kerala and one each from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. With this, the active cases have now come down to 15,419. At the same time, the daily positivity rate has gone up to 0.50 percent. 

At present, the number of active cases in the country is 0.04 percent of the total infected while the recovery rate has gone up to 98.75 percent. A decrease of 228 cases has been registered from active cases in 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 0.50 percent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.55 percent. The number of Covid-19 cases in India crossed 20 lakhs on 7 August 2020. On September 5, this figure had crossed 40 lakhs and on September 16 it had crossed 50 lakhs. On 28 September, the number of infected was more than 60 lakh, on 11 October 70 lakh, on 29 October 80 lakh, on 20 November 90 lakh and on 19 December 2020 the number of corona infected had exceeded 1 crore.
