On the Congress’ Presidential Election and candidates filing their nominations, Madhusudan Mistry, the Congress' Central Election Authority chairman has given a huge statement stating that none of the three members contesting for the Congress’s Top post is an official one. As of now Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor, Mallikarjun Kharge, and KN Tripathi have filed their nomination.

Earlier, on Friday, Former Jharkhand Minister KN Tripathi became the third member to file his nomination. Before filing his application, he said, "I'll file my nomination at 1 pm today (for Congress President post). Rahul Gandhi & party chief Sonia Gandhi have said that they're neither requesting anyone to contest nor declining anyone it. We want to see what the rank and file of the party want."
