Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra, who is quite popular for her precise, eloquent and facts spilling speeches in the Parliament on Thursday thrashed out at the Congress, saying it should realise that its leaders are not "emperors of India". She went on to add that had the Congress Party fulfilled its duties fruitfully in Goa, there was no need for the Trinamool to enter the state's poll fray to defeat the current ruling BJP.
"We are ready for an alliance in Goa as defeating the BJP is the need of the hour, but the Congress should get off its "high horse" and wake up to its depleted strength. Mahua has always been stringently vocal. not only about the ruling BJP's administration but also of the Congress which fails to discharge its duties as a Grand Opposition Party.
"I think that it is important for people to realise that if Congress had done its job, there was no need for us (Trinamool) to be here. We are here because Congress could not do their job. Congress is a platform which is not adequate enough to defeat the BJP," Mahua further added. The Assembly Polls in Goa are supposed to be held on February 14, and the parties are coming together to defeat the current BJP. Mahua Moitra added that, the Congress Party, as an opposition is not strong enough to defeat the BJP, so they can join hands. She also added that she is there as a representative of Mamata Banarjee, and an anti-BJP.
