Commonwealth Games 2022 : Mirabai Chanu got India's first gold

Athlete Mirabai Chanu, who won the silver medal for India in Tokyo Olympics 2020, did wonders in the women's weightlifting 49 kg weight category on Saturday. Mirabai Chanu, who came for weightlifting at the end of the snatch and clean and jerk round, grabbed the gold very easily without any collision. By lifting 88 kg in her second attempt of the snatch round, Mirabai took a 12 kg lead over her nearest rival. In the first attempt, she lifted 84 kg. However, in the third attempt of the snatch round, she missed lifting 90 kg.

Mirabai Chanu almost confirmed her victory in the Commonwealth Games 2022 by lifting 88 kg in the second attempt of the snatch round. She did not collide with any athlete.
