Vikas Thakur won another medal for India in weightlifting. He lifted a total of 346 kg in the men's 96 kg weight category and won the silver medal. This was India's third silver and eighth overall medal in weightlifting.
India's mixed team won silver. They suffered a 1-3 loss at the hands of Malaysia in the final. This is India's second consecutive medal in badminton at the Commonwealth Games.
Sreeshankar reached the final with a jump of 8.05 meters in the first attempt in the long jump. At the same time, Mohammad Yahia also managed to reach the final with a jump of 7.68 meters.
