Commercial coal block will be auctioned from February 27
An amendment to the Congress constitution was also proposed, under which 50 per cent representation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), women, youth and minority communities is to be ensured and secured at all levels of the party's organisation.
Bidding will be done for the auction of coal blocks from February 27 under the sixth round process under Commercial Mining in the Ministry of Coal. The tender for the auction of 141 coal blocks in 11 states across the country was issued on November 3, 2022. This included 17 coal blocks of Jharkhand. But 96 bidders came for a total of 36 coal blocks across the country, in which technically there were only 27 coal blocks in which more than one bidder came. Bidding will be held among them from February 27.
