Comedian Vir Das's show in Bengaluru canceled following objection from right-wing group

Actor and standup comedian Vir Das's show in Bengaluru today has been cancelled. Artist Vir Das himself announced this on Instagram. Apologizing for the inconvenience, he said that due to unavoidable circumstances, we are going ahead with the Bengaluru show. New details and dates will come soon. The right-wing organization had protested against Vir Das's show as hurting Hindu sentiments.

Mohan Gowda, State Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti said, “Earlier he had made derogatory statements against women, our Prime Minister and India at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington DC, USA and defamed the nation. He had said that in India, We worship women during the day and rape them at night."
The right-wing organization complained that it was not right to allow such a controversial person to organize events in a communally sensitive area like Bengaluru.
He said, “When Karnataka is already facing many law and order problems due to communal incidents, such events which can disturb the law and order should not be allowed. We demand that this program should not be allowed. be canceled immediately." In Two India's monologue, Vir Das described two opposite faces of the country and mentioned many controversial topics. From Delhi gang rape and farmer protests to pollution, he spoke widely.
