Parvez Parwaz had filed a case against CM Yogi for the communal riots in Gorakhpur in the year 2007. The Division Bench of Justice Krishna Murari and Justice AC Sharma of Allahabad High Court gave its verdict after hearing on the petition of Parvez Parwaz and Asad Hayat. CM Yogi gets big relief from Supreme Court, now hate speech case will not run against him

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has got a big relief from the Supreme Court in a 15 year old case. In the case related to Gorakhpur riots in 2007, the court has given relief to CM Yogi and has stamped the decision of the Allahabad High Court. After this decision of the Supreme Court, it is now clear that the case of giving hate speech against CM Yogi will no longer run. Let us tell you that there was violence in Gorakhpur in 2007 and this matter was related to this, in the case the petitioner had accused the then MP Yogi Adityanath of giving provocative speeches.

In fact, in February 2018, the Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition filed against CM Yogi. In the 2007 Gorakhpur communal riot case, the Allahabad High Court had dismissed the petition filed against the government's refusal to grant the necessary prosecution sanction to prosecute it. Not only this, the court had also rejected the demand of CBI to investigate the incident.

The court had said that there is no error in the process of denying permission to prosecute on behalf of the government.

Significantly, in 2007, an FIR was registered against Yogi Adityanath and others at Gorakhpur police station. He was accused of several incidents of violence in Gorakhpur that day after the alleged hate speech by Adityanath. However, in the Gorakhpur violence case, the state government in May 2017 refused to allow the trial, citing insufficient evidence. This order of the state government was challenged in the High Court. However, on 22 February 2018, the High Court dismissed this challenge.
