Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Uttar Pradesh will not depend on other states for oilseeds and pulses, but by increasing the production of both, the state will be made self-sufficient. The way the population is increasing, only 30-35 percent of oilseeds are being produced for the requirement of edible oils, while the production of pulses is only 40 to 45 percent. A concrete action plan will have to be made to bring it up to production as per the demand. The role of small and marginal farmers will be important in this.
On the presentation of 100 days action plan of seven departments of agriculture production sector before the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that all the departments should find employment opportunities along with providing facilities to the common man. The plan started should also be completed in a time bound manner.
After 100 days, the departments will also have to present the details of their works in front of the public. He said that there is no paucity of funds for the schemes of public interest, but keep in mind the financial balance and cut expenses.
