Chirag Paswan has been dismissed as LJP's president
Paswan has been ousted as party president by rebel MPs in the continuing political battle between him and his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras over the party's leadership.

Chirag Paswan, who had been isolated inside his party following a coup orchestrated by his uncle, was ousted as president of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Tuesday in an "emergency meeting" of rebel MPs who are now in charge. Soon after the statement, he responded by "expelling" his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras and four other rebellious LJP MPs, ultimately dividing the party into 2 parts.
Further, Chirag Paswan's followers attempted to take over the LJP office in Delhi, which also serves as Pashupati Paras's residence, by blackening posters.
The rebels declared that Chirag Paswan was ousted as the LJP's national president based on the concept of "One Man, One Post," despite the fact that he held three positions.
Rebels, per the sources, want to depose him from every position of authority he has held since succeeding his father, LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan.
Suraj Bhan will serve as acting president until a new president is chosen, as per Paras group, and Pashupati Kumar Paras' takeover of his brother's party will be completed by the end of this week. Knowing that five of the six LJP Lok Sabha MPs have revolted and he is the sixth, Chirag Paswan would find it more difficult than his uncle.
On Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla welcomed Pashupati Paras as the LJP's new leader in the chamber, thus stamping his appointment. If the conflict gets to court, Speaker's support will bolster the rebels' case.
Paras, Ram Vilas Paswan's younger brother and a key figure in the coup orchestrated with the aid of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP, had previously dismissed his nephew's attempts at reconciliation. He refused to see Chirag Paswan, who had waited for an hour and 45 minutes at his doorway.
Paswan Junior shared an emotional letter he sent to his uncle in March in an emotional tweet. He wrote:
"I tried all I could to maintain my father's and my family's political party together, but I failed miserably. Party is like a mother, and we must never abandon her. In a democracy, the people come first. I'd want to express my gratitude to all who believed in the party."
Chirag Paswan chose to split away from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the November Bihar election and focus his energy on defeating ally Nitish Kumar, sowing the seeds of mutiny.
While the LJP only won one of Bihar's 243 assembly seats, it was instrumental in reducing Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United's total by at least 32 seats (JDU). With the BJP emerging as the major partner, Nitish Kumar's standing in the NDA was greatly weakened.
Following the elections, Bihar Chief Minister Ram Vilas Paswan made it plain that he did not want Chirag to join the NDA or the BJP.
According to sources, Mr Paras was persuaded by senior JDU leader Lallan Singh and a BJP Rajya Sabha MP that he could join the NDA in Bihar and the Centre only if Chirag Paswan was not in charge.
On Saturday, a meeting in Patna made the decision to depose Paswan.
Paras feels that being the national president of the LJP will boost his prospects of being appointed to the Union Cabinet.
