Chehre Director Rumy Jafry On Rhea Chakraborty Being Called ‘Witch & Gold-Digger’ To ‘Most Desirable Woman’
Rumy Jafry shares his thoughts Rhea Chakraborty & if her presence will affect Chehre or not.

During Sushant Singh Rajput's death investigation case, the late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty became the main target. Last year, the actor was slammed, trolled, and abused online by trolls, media houses, and a few celebrities. One person who stood by her side was director Rumy Jafry.
Rhea is also a part of Rumy's upcoming thriller Chehre. Recently, the makers shared a promo that featured the Jalebi actor. Recently, the director was asked if he is worried that Chakraborty's controversial life will affect the film.
Rumy Jafry told the Times of India that he doesn't think the film will suffer because of Rhea Chakraborty's personal life controversy. He admits that he felt that if the film had been released last year, it would get affected. Jafry said, "Everyone knows what a furore the media caused with the whole Sushant Singh Rajput case and Rhea’s arrest. Last year, she was a ‘witch’, a ‘gold-digger’ and whatnot; this year she was declared as the 'most desirable woman'. This shows there has been a change in the perception of people. So, I really don’t feel the film will have an adverse effect because of what happened with Rhea last year."
Earlier, about the actor, Rumy had said that she is a good human being and comes from a good family. The director said that when people see her in Chehre, they will notice how good her acting is.
Talking about Chehre, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi and Krystle Dsouza. The film was supposed to release earlier this year but got postponed due to the second COVID-19 wave. Recently, the makers announced a new release date for Chehre. The film will now release on August 27, 2021, in places where cinema halls are open.
