Char Dham road: BrahMos must be taken to LAC, Govt says we need wide roads

Alluding to China's military build-up across the line of effective control, the Center told the Supreme Court on Thursday that wider roads were needed in the mountainous Char Dham region of Uttarakhand to carry missiles such as the BrahMos and other essential military equipment. “The army must take the BrahMos ... a large area will be needed. If landslides do occur, the military will deal with them. How can we get there if the streets are not wide enough? Attorney General K K Venugopal, appearing for the Center, said at an office headed by Judge D Y Chandrachud.
