Centre will launch 100 Lakh Crore Gatishakti-National Master Plan To Create Employment Opportunities For The youth And Help In holistic Infrastructure Growth: Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a Rs 100 lakh crore Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti initiative which will create employment opportunities for the country's youth and help in holistic infrastructure growth.

PM Modi on Sunday, after unfurling the Tricolour, while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day praised the First Prime Minister of Independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru among other leaders, while drawing reference to the long freedom struggle,  “I would like to begin by conveying greetings on this special occasion of Independence Day. This is a day to remember our great freedom fighters. Be it Vallabhbhai Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri, or Jawaharlal Nehru, we are thankful to our leaders who brought Independence.” he said.

This was PM Modi’s eighth consecutive address from Red Fort. Today he chose a saffron ‘Pagdi’ with red patterns and a long tail for the 75th Independence Day celebrations. Wearing a traditional kurta and a churidar complemented by a sky blue jacket and a stole, Modi continued his tradition of donning flamboyant and colourful turbans at I-Day and Republic Day events.

In his address to the nation, PM Modi said, Centre will soon launch the Gatishakti-National Master Plan because along with modernization, India also needs to adopt a holistic approach in infrastructure building. Gatishakti-National Master Plan will be announced in the coming days. The over Rs 100 lakh crore Gatishakti initiative will bring employment opportunities for youth and help in holistic infrastructure growth.

Prime Minister also lauded the efforts of  Frontline and Health workers and Corona warriors."During the pandemic, our doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, sanitation workers and scientists who were developing vaccines were working with a sense of service towards the nation. All those who devoted every moment to serve others in this period deserve our appreciation," he said.

PM Modi also praised the vaccination programme of the country and said, "Indians have fought this battle with a lot of patience. We have had many challenges but we worked with extraordinary pace in every area. It’s a result of the strength of our industrialists and scientists, that today, India doesn’t need to depend on any other nation for vaccines. We can proudly say that the largest Covid-19 vaccination program is being run in India today. More than 54 crore people have received their shots so far."
