In a letter written to the states on Tuesday evening, it has been said that the war room should be activated to deal with Omicron. Both the Omicron and Delta variants are still available across the country. Therefore, there is a need to show more foresight at the local and district level and take immediate action.
This letter has been sent by Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan. In this, emphasizing on data analysis, states and union territories have been asked to take measures to prevent infection even before they enter their borders. Some measures have also been suggested in the letter. In these, there is mention of night curfew when needed, prohibition of gathering, restrictions related to office and public transport. It has also been suggested to use emergency funds for beds, ambulances, oxygen equipment and medicines in the hospital.
