Center removed all restrictions as soon as the air quality improved in Delhi
According to the advisory issued by the Police Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, the restrictions were to be at Chilla Border, DND and Kalindi Kunj Border. However, a diverted route will be provided to reach their destination. “Under the Graded Action Plan, all trucks, except those providing essential goods or services or running on CNG or electricity, were prohibited from entering Delhi from Noida. There will also be a ban on the entry of BS-3 (Petrol) and BS-4 (Diesel) light four wheelers from Noida border into Delhi.
As the air quality in Delhi improves, the central government has withdrawn the restrictions imposed in the capital for the past few days. Therefore, now trucks will be able to enter Delhi as well as the ban on non-BS6 diesel vehicles has also been lifted. Apart from this, the order of closure of industries in Delhi has also been withdrawn. For the past few days, due to increased pollution in Delhi-NCR, the air quality had reached very poor level. Due to this, the Delhi government had to take many important decisions like closing schools up to class 5 to working with 50 percent employees in government offices.
Amidst rising air pollution levels in the capital Delhi, the Noida Traffic Police on Saturday issued a traffic advisory announcing a ban on the entry of non-essential trucks and other vehicles from the borders of Delhi.
According to the advisory issued by the Police Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, the restrictions were to be at Chilla Border, DND and Kalindi Kunj Border. However, a diverted route will be provided to reach their destination.
“Under the Graded Action Plan, all trucks, except those providing essential goods or services or running on CNG or electricity, were prohibited from entering Delhi from Noida. There will also be a ban on the entry of BS-3 (Petrol) and BS-4 (Diesel) light four wheelers from Noida border into Delhi. The advisory further said, "Entry is prohibited except for diesel powered medium goods vehicles and heavy goods vehicles engaged in essential goods and services."
