Kejriwal says the Centre is upset with him for favouring protesting farmers

The Delhi Government and the Centre are at loggerheads on the issue of farmers' agitation and a war of words has ensued between the two. Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the BJP-led Central Government is upset with him as he refused to allow Delhi Police to use the stadiums as detention centres for protesting farmers.

In fact, when farmers were protesting at the border, Delhi Police chalked out a plan to detain them at stadiums so that they couldn't disrupt the normal life of people in Delhi.

The Centre allowed the Delhi Police to use the nine stadiums of Delhi as temporary detention centres. But, Delhi's Home Minister Satyendar Jain refused it.

Apparently, Kejriwal and the Centre are at odds with each other.

Now in the latest development, Kejriwal has accused Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to remain silent on the farm laws and didn't oppose it at the earlier stages.

He said that Singh had many opportunities to oppose the agricultural laws but he did not do so.

Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has appealed to all the farmers that the law is in their interest and amendments have been made after a long wait. The minister said that still if farmers have any objection to this, then he will address their concerns.

On the other hand, Lok Sangharsh Morcha leader Pratibha Shinde said that she would burn effigies on December 5 in every district of Maharashtra and in Gujarat in protest against the farm laws.

She said that if the government doesn't repeal the law by December 3, the farmers' movement will become very big which will lead to the fall of this government.
