Center alert regarding increasing cases of corona in China, Health Minister will hold review meeting

Apart from China, there has been an outcry in many countries due to the increasing cases of corona. The worst situation regarding Corona is in China. Hospitals in China are full of patients. At the same time, due to the record deaths happening daily, one has to wait for hours for the last rites. On the other hand, looking at the condition of Corona in China, the Government of India is on alert mode.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has called a meeting this morning to review the corona pandemic. The meeting will discuss the spread of infection and its scenario across the world. Secretary, Department of Health, AYUSH, Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology, Rajeev Behl, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research, VK Pal, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, and NL Arora, Chairman, National Technical Advisory Group on Vaccination, in the review meeting called on Corona. Other senior officers will participate.

States have been directed to engage in genome sequencing. A letter has been written to all the states and union territories. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has said that full attention should be paid to complete genome sequencing of positive samples to monitor the variant of corona. The five-pronged strategy of Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination and appropriate behavior to combat Covid has resulted in success in curbing this pandemic. As a result, the infection of corona virus has been limited to 12 thousand cases on a weekly basis, but its threat has not been completely averted in the world.

In a week, 3.5 million new cases of corona have been reported worldwide. In this letter, the guidelines for the revised process of monitoring issued by the Ministry in June have been mentioned. Accordingly, to meet the challenge of the new variant, emphasis has been laid on early detection, isolation, testing and proper management of suspected and positive cases. According to Rajesh Bhushan, monitoring the trends of the current variant is very important.
