CCTV footage helped South-West Police to arrest notorious auto lifer in Delhi
An auto lifer who was involved in the theft of more than half a dozen vehicles has fallen into the South-West Delhi Police’s trap. The Anti-Snatching team of Sagarpur Police Station, in a commendable effort, arrested the auto-lifer who had been duping the law-enforcing agencies for past some time.

On January 9 2022, a complainant namely Prikshit, who resides in Hans Park, West Sagarpur, lodged a complaint regarding theft of his scooty bearing number- DL-4SCC-0288. In this regard, a case under the relevant section was registered at Sagarpur police station and an investigation was carried out.
Anti-snatching team of Sagarpur comprising Head Constable Sumer, Constables Manjeet and Sunil led by Inspector Sube Singh, (SHO of Sagarpur) under the close supervision of ACP Daleep Singh, were formed to trace the accused and solve this case.
“Each member of the team was assigned a specific task to trace the accused. The staff was deployed in plain clothes to check the ruffians/budding criminals. During this period the team members checked CCTV footage and on January 15, 2022, trailing the CCTV cameras, the team reached the house of the accused where accused Ketan was arrested in the present case,” Gaurav Sharma, DCP, South-West District, New Delhi, said.
He added, “Ketan, a resident of Anand Vihar in Uttam Nagar, is married and has studied up to 8th class. He is involved in more than 6 cases of theft. He is an addict of Alcohol, Ganja etc. Further on the instance of accused Ketan the stolen scooty was recovered.
