CBSE CICSE Evaluation Criteria for Class 12th Submitted In Supreme Court, Result By July 31

Attorney General has filed the CBSE 12th Marking Scheme before the Supreme Court today. Class 12 results will be based on students' performance in classes 10, 11, and in-class 12 pre-board exams, according to the marking standards.

This year, the board has announced that marks from classes 10, 11, and 12 would be considered to determine the results of Class 12 pupils. However, pupils are unconvinced by the introduction of Class 11 grades, believing that it will harm their grades.

Class 12 result scheme will be based on

A. Class 10 component (30 per cent) based on best three performing subjects in Board exams

B. Class 11 component (30 per cent) will be based on the final exam

C. Class 12 component (40 per cent) based on unit test/mid-term/pre-board

If students do not satisfy the qualifying condition and do not meet the required marks using alternate evaluation criteria, they will be placed in the 'essential repeat' or compartment category. The CBSE will conduct as soon as the conditions are favorable.

To achieve consistency, the CBSE has proposed that the school's internal performance be considered. According to the AG, the school's performance will be used as a benchmark. The school's subject-wise results for 2020-2021 should be within a range of plus/minus five marks attained by students in the school in the reference year in the subject.

When asked when an optional physical exam will be available, AG stated that it would not be possible until "Covid departs." The judges insisted on setting an upper limit based on the circumstances at the time.

In addition, the CISCE has submitted its assessment plan for Class 12 students for the year 2021. CISCE's senior lawyer JK Das stated that students would be evaluated based on their performance in Class 10, 11, and 12, with the highest marks awarded in these years being taken into account.

The historical performance of the previous six years will be used to rationalize the marks awarded by specific schools.

Based on the assessment system, a result committee will be constituted, led by the principal of that school and two senior PGT teachers from that school, as well as two PGT teachers from a neighboring school.
