CBI's Operation Kanak Part 2: FCI bribery case raids more than 30 locations in Punjab
According to information, raids are being conducted at FCI officials, rice traders and other food traders. The CBI had registered a bribery case in this matter.

CBI today raided more than 30 places in Punjab in connection with FCI bribery case under Operation Kanak Part 2. According to CBI sources, raids are going on in Ferozepur, Sangrur, Fatehpur Saheb, Moga, Ludhiana, Patiala, Rajpura and Mohali. According to information, raids are being conducted at FCI officials, rice traders and other food traders. The CBI had registered a bribery case in this matter.
This is the second raid in connection with an FIR related to an organized group of officers in FCI. The group is alleged to have taken a bribe of Rs 1000-4000 per truck unloaded at FCI godowns per crop season by covering up low quality grains supplied by private millers and other benefits. Later the bribe amount was distributed among the lower level to higher level officials.
The FIR details the collection of such bribes in several FCI depots in Punjab. He said officials ranging from technical assistants to executive directors were allegedly involved in the racket taking bribes from private mill owners.
