CBI raids former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram's premises in alleged corruption case
A CBI official said that the CBI has received complaints against former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram regarding irregularities in awarding tenders for currency printing. Nothing more can be said as of now, further investigation is going on.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday raided the premises of former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram in an alleged corruption case. During this their premises are being searched. CBI has conducted raids in Delhi and Jaipur. A CBI official said that the CBI has received complaints against former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram regarding irregularities in awarding tenders for currency printing. Nothing more can be said as of now, further investigation is going on.
According to the complaint copy against Arvind Mayaram, on February 14, 2017, a complaint was received from Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary and CVO, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, North Block, New Delhi. The CBI has registered a case against unknown officials of the Ministry of Finance, including the former Finance Secretary, and a private person under various sections of criminal conspiracy, cheating and misuse of official position. "The Competent Authority of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, New Delhi has accorded approval u/s 17(a) of the PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) to conduct an inquiry against Arvind Mayaram.
The CBI has registered a case against Mumbai-based Vadraj Cement Limited and unknown government servants and unknown persons, including others, in a bank fraud case. The CBI has registered a case on a complaint by Punjab National Bank. In which a consortium of 10 banks was involved in a bank fraud of about Rs 1688.41 crore.
