CBI action against NGOs, raids at 40 places in foreign donation case
In the operation, CBI has arrested some accused including civil servants while taking bribe. About half a dozen government employees and others are being questioned. During the search so far, transactions worth two crore rupees have been found through illegally sent hawala channels.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken a major crackdown on non-profit organizations (NGOs) for alleged violation of foreign funding rules. The news agency PTI has published a report that on the input of the Union Home Ministry, CBI has put raids at 40 places.
After searches in Delhi, Rajasthan, Chennai, Mysore and other places, the central agency said that illegal transactions of about two crore rupees have been found through hawala channels.
The investigating agency said that the investigation of 12 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is going on. It has been alleged that some government employees in the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) division were facilitating illegal grant of licenses in exchange for bribes in connivance with NGOs. This license allows NGOs to receive and use funds from abroad.
