“Cause Unclear”: Mumbai Police on Saturday released an official statement after the demise of actor Shefali Jariwala. Speaking to the media, the police said they are still investigating the case and trying to find out the cause of her death. Earlier reports suggested that the 42-year-old had died of a cardiac arrest.
A Mumbai Police official told ANI on Saturday morning that Jariwala was found dead at her apartment on Friday night. "Her body was found at her residence in Andheri. We received the information at 1 am. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of death is not clear," the police said.
A police team and a Forensics team reached her home today.
Shefali's husband, Parag, was seen exiting the hospital in videos that went viral. He looked devastated and covered his face partially with his hand as he left the hospital in a car.

The news of her death was first shared by journalist Vickey Lalwani on social media. “Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more," a part of the post said.
Shefali Jariwala became a household name in the early 2000s with her hot performance in the remix video Kaanta Laga and earned the tag “Kaanta Laga Girl". She later appeared in Salman Khan’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
Himanshi Khurana, a fellow Bigg Boss 13 contestant, shared a photo with Shefali on her Instagram story and called the show “cursed”. Comedian Kiku Sharda, who had worked with Shefali on web projects, remembered her as a lovely person and said she used to greet everyone with a smile and positive energy on set. He called her a beautiful soul.

Other TV celebrities, including Kamya Punjabi, Rashami Desai, Rajiv Adatia, and Kishwer Merchant, also expressed shock over her death and remembered her as an energetic and sweet colleague.
Later, she shifted to reality TV and gained popularity with Nach Baliye with her husband, and then Bigg Boss 13. Her entry in the Bigg Boss house was a talking point as she had a history with fellow contestant and late actor Sidharth Shukla. The two had dated over a decade ago, but Shefali maintained they were always respectful of each other on and off the show.
Shefali married Harmeet Singh in 2004, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2009. She later married actor Parag in 2015 and they were together till her demise.
