Car crash testing will be done on a large scale in India, the government took this important step

The Government of India is working fast towards the safety of the car. Currently, Indian vehicles are given safety ratings by European NCAP, Global NCAP because, for the equipment that comes from abroad for car crash test in the country, heavy custom duty was given but after the end of custom duty, now there will be a large scale car crash test in India. A large number of vehicles are also expected to come from abroad for the car crash test in India.

In India, 252 percent custom duty was levied on car test. Which has now been reduced to zero. Due to this, car testing will be more and more in the country in the coming time and for this the manufacturers will not be dependent on foreign countries. Union Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey on Saturday said that the abolition of customs duty for car testing in India will catapult the country into the global business of car testing. Earlier, if a foreign car company wanted to send its car to India for safety testing of international standards, then it was charged 252 percent customs duty, but in the Union Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced this customs duty to zero. Due to which India will compete in car safety test on international standard. Zero custom duty will be effective from April 1, 2023.

Currently only 5 countries have car safety testing facilities of international standards. There are 2 testing facilities in the United Kingdom. Germany, Japan, China and Taiwan are among the 5 other countries with car testing facilities. Now India has become the sixth global car testing center.
