Canada’s Mark Carney Invites PM Modi to G7 Summit: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that he had spoken to his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney, who invited him to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month.

“Glad to receive a call from Prime Minister @MarkJCarney of Canada. Congratulated him on his recent election victory and thanked him for the invitation to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month,” Modi wrote on X.

“As vibrant democracies bound by deep people-to-people ties, India and Canada will work together with renewed vigour, guided by mutual respect and shared interests. Look forward to our meeting at the Summit,” he added.

The Government of Canada under Prime Minister Mark Carney will host the G7 Summit this June 15-17 at the resort of Kananaskis, Alberta.

Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, has suddenly taken the leadership role of his party and won the federal elections in Canada, which is a start of a new chapter for Canadian politics.
