Bus full of 28 passengers Falls into a ditch in Uttarakhand: 26 bodies found; 17 Passengers Over 60 Years Old
All the passengers belonged to the Panna District of Madhya Pradesh. PM Modi announces an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs each for the families of the deceased & Rs 50,000 each for the injured in a bus accident in Uttarakhand

A bus carrying about 30 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh fell into a gorge in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on Sunday evening. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the news agency- 26 people have died in the accident. All the passengers were going on Chardham Yatra. NDRF team is carrying out the rescue operation. Uttarakhand CM is monitoring the rescue operation from the disaster control room. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is leaving for Dehradun in some time.
The bus number is UK- 04 1541. It started in Haridwar. Police Station Purola Ashok Kumar said – Due to the deep ditch and darkness, there is a problem in transporting the dead bodies to the road. So far only 2 bodies have been taken to the road.
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said – "All the passengers are from the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. After the accident, along with the ambulance, the medical team is also present at the spot. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where they are being treated."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed grief after the bus accident in Uttarakhand. Amit Shah said that the bus full of devotees fell into the gorge. I have spoken to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on this matter. Relief and rescue operations are on.
On the matter, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "Bus accident of pilgrims from Panna on Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is unfortunate. I've spoken with CM PS Dhami...A team from Delhi has been rushed to Uttarakhand for a relief & rescue operation. I'm myself going to Dehradun tonight."
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "A very tragic incident took place today, involving the accident of a bus of pilgrims from Panna, Madhya Pradesh; 25 people have died. We are putting all relief efforts. Both DM & SP sent to spot, HM has sent NDRF team."
