BSE and NSE to Remain Closed on Independence Day: As per the official reports, the Indian stock market will remain closed on August 15.

As India will celebrate Independence Day tomorrow, the BSE and the NSE will stay shut down for the whole day and there will be no trading or investing activities tomorrow.

From August 16, the Indian stock market will open and continue its daily activities.

Trading includes all sectors such as equity, derivatives, options, swaps, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) will remain closed tomorrow.

On the stock market holiday calendar 2024, Independence Day is marked as a holiday. There is a total of 14 holidays for the stock market in 2024.

On August 15, trading in the commodity market will stay shut down for the whole day. However, there is only one holiday in August while no scheduled holiday in September.

Livemint reported that the Commodity Derivatives Segment and the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment on BSE will be closed, as well as all dealing in bullion, metals, and energy derivatives on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will remain shut down for both morning and evening session.

The next holiday for the Indian stock market is on October 2 which marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi followed by a holiday on November 1 on the account of Diwali.

Then the next closure will scheduled for November 15 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak and the last holiday of 2024 for the Indian stock market is on December 25 which marks the celebration of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

On Wednesday, August 14, the Sensex and Nifty were trading in the green after experiencing a decline on Tuesday.
