Earlier on Friday evening, two vehicles were damaged after the Choli bridge collapsed in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district. DEOC officials had said that the bridge collapse occurred at around 7.30 pm at Choli Bridge near Holi district Chamba. In this incident, the bridge completely collapsed and due to this two vehicles - a car and a tipper truck fell down. Bailey bridge at Choli on Chamba-Holi road is broken due to heavy vehicles passing over its capacity. The load capacity of the bridge is said to be about 20 tonnes, but vehicles with a load capacity of up to 35 tonnes were passing on it.
The administration has blamed the company involved in the construction of the Kuthed Hydro Project, responsible for the collapse of the Bailey Bridge. Because heavy vehicles of this company used to pass through this bridge. Now the company itself has been asked to build the bridge. For this, the company has been given 15 days time. Now there will be a judicial inquiry into the bridge collapse case. In this regard, an inquiry has been ordered by the district administration to SDM Bharmour. The SDM will have to investigate the reasons for the collapse of the Bailey Bridge and submit the report to the district administration within a week.
