BJP’s Nupur Sharma requests Media Houses to not release her address to Public, expresses Security Concerns
After suffering continual backlash, and death threats, Sharma withdrew her statement. However, the BJP, in an official statement has suspended her.

BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma who has been a point of controversy is facing death threats after she gave blasphemous remarks on Prophet Mohammad. Islamist Groups have given her and her family several security threats, owing to which she took to Twitter and requested the Media houses not to make her address public. However, as per our sources, indirectly, it was the Party she belonged to that is heralded as responsible for the address leak.
She wrote, “I request all media houses and everybody else not to make my address public. There is a security threat to my family.”
A user took to Twitter and wrote, “BJP office-bearers should have blurred/hidden it before releasing it to the press. It's all over the media now.”
BJP has suspended spokesperson Nupur Sharma from the party for 6 years. Nupur had given a controversial statement on Prophet Muhammad. After this, the party has taken action against him. BJP said that we respect all religions and their worshippers. BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh issued a letter saying – BJP is a party that respects all religions.
Apart from Nupur Sharma, BJP has also taken action against Delhi State Spokesperson Naveen Jindal. Jindal has also been thrown out of the party. Supporting Nupur's statement, Jindal tweeted. Jindal has said that his remarks were not intended to hurt the religious sentiments of any community.
Nupur Sharma withdrew her statement after being suspended from BJP. Sharma tweeted and wrote – Controversial words were being spoken against my God in the TV debate, which I could not tolerate. In this fury, I said something objectionable, which I take back unconditionally.
