Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. An FIR has also been registered in the matter.
The victim has been identified, he is a resident of Shamsher Nagar in Wasseypur, Dhanbad. According to HT, the younger brother of the man said that he was mentally unstable and is undergoing treatment at the Central Institute of Psychiatry in Ranchi.
According to a Hindustan Times report, BJP MLA from Dhanbad, Raj Sinha, who was present at the protest site, alleged that the incident was being exposed for political reasons. He said, “The Chief Minister never takes cognizance of the rising crime in this city, but has been quick to take cognizance of this incident due to political reasons. Let them investigate."
