BJP wins Sohna Municipal Council chief's election, AAP registers first victory in Gurugram
The results of the elections held for 28 Municipal Councils (Nagar Parishads) and 18 Nagar Parishads (Nagar Palika Samitis) of Haryana were declared on Wednesday.

AAP has registered its first electoral victory in Sohna Municipal Committee election by winning one seat (Anju Bala, Ward 1) in Gurugram. Of the 21 wards that come under the Sohna municipal committee, independent candidates won 20, while the Aam Aadmi Party bagged one seat.
Out of 46 municipal councils and committees, the BJP managed to win 22 seats, followed by independents (19) and JJP (3), while INLD and AAP won one city council seat each. Unlike the BJP and the AAP, the Congress did not contest the election on the party's symbol here. In South Haryana, the BJP and Independents have won the maximum number of seats, while the JJP has won one seat.
BJP candidate Anju Devi has won the post of President of Sohna Municipal Council by defeating Lalita Devi of AAP. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Nishant Yadav said that Anju got 12185 votes while Lalita got 10321 votes. While 209 voters have cast their vote for NOTA while Anju Devi won the election by 1864 votes. In this race, BSP candidate Mala Devi came third with 1118 votes, while INLD's Kavitha came third with 757 votes.
