BJP Unveils 15 Candidates for Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Elections: BJP on Friday released its fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, announcing candidates for 14 seats in Tamil Nadu and the lone seat of Puducherry. The saffron party has fielded Puducherry minister A Namassivayam for the lone Lok Sabha seat.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Dr Devanathan Yadav from Sivaganga, Pon V Balaganapathy from Tiruvallur, and RC Paul Kanagaraj from Chennai North. There were also tickets given to Ashwathaman of Tiruvannamalai, KP Ramalingam (Namakkal), AP Muruganandam (Tiruppur), K Vasantharajan of Pollachi, VV Senthilnandam of Karur, P Karthiyayini of Chidambaram, Ramesh of Nagapattinam, Muruganandam of Thanjavur, Prof Raama Sreenivasan (Madurai), B John Pandian of Tenkasi, and Raadhika Sarathkumar of Virudhunagar are also participating.
In Tamil Nadu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, the wife of actor-turned-politician R Sarathkumar, has been given a seat from Virudhunagar.
A third list of nine candidates for the Lok Sabha elections was announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.
The saffron party has allocated 10 seats to the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) while leaving a few seats for smaller parties.
BJP president K Annamalai of Tamil Nadu was fielded in Coimbatore on Thursday, while Union Minister L Murugan was fielded in Nilgiris. Former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan was nominated for Chennai South and Pon Radhakrishnan was nominated for Kanniyakumari, which he represented in 2014.
BJP's Tamil Nadu state unit chief K Annamalai and PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss signed the pact earlier this week at the PMK's Thailapuram home in Villupuram.
In a joint statement, the two parties said the PMK would contest 10 seats in the state.
