BJP Rajya Sabha Tally Drops to 86: The oppression party Congress currently holds 26 seats and the INDIA Bloc led by Congress holds a total of 86 seats and the Trinamool Congress holds 13 seats making the current strength of Rajya Sabha 226 members.

BJP Rajya Sabha Tally Drops to 86: The Bharatiya Janata Party tally in Rajya Sabha had dropped to only 86 seats leading behind the opposition party INDIA Bloc led by Congress who now holds 87 seats.
On Saturday, four prominent members of the BJP Party retired as their term ended. These four members include Mahesh Jethmalani, Ram Shakal, Rakesh Sinha, and Sonal Mansingh.
With these retirements, the Bharatiya Janata Party now stands at only 86 seats and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) which is led by BJP also have been reduced to only 101 seats.
In the upper house of the Parliament whose strength is 245 members, the NDA holds 101 seats which is less than the majority mark of 113 seats. Also, the BJP-led NDA currently holds 240 seats in Lok Sabha which is also less than the majority mark of 272 seats.

As per the reports, there are currently 19 vacancies available in the Rajya Sabha, and the BJP-led NDA alliance is expected to cope up with their losses when the byelections to fill these 19 empty seats begin the following week.

However, the BJP-led NDA alliance is confident enough as they are leading ahead of their opposition parties and plans to win at least 2 seats in Maharashtra, Assam and Bihar.
It further plans to win at least 1 seat in Rajasthan, Haryana, Tripura and Madhya Pradesh.
