Birhum Case : CBI will investigate Birbhum violence
The Calcutta High Court on March 25 ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the massacre case in West Bengal's Birbhum district, in which eight people were killed in the violence. In the Birbhum violence, the Calcutta High Court also took the cognizance of the hearing.

Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday called for the arrest of local Trinamool Congress leader Anirul Hussain, who was accused of involvement in the massacre after eight people were killed in violence that erupted in Baguti village in Baguti district of Birbhum, West Bengal.
Mamta Banerjee met the families of the victims on Thursday, 24 March. She announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for rebuilding the houses burnt in the violence. Apart from this,she also has announced Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the victims and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. Apart from this, promising jobs to the ten families affected by the violence, Banerjee said that she will try to get justice in this case soon.
