Bihar Politics Updates : CM Nitish will not campaign for Anant Singh's wife in assembly by-elections
The reason for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's stay away from campaigning for the assembly by-elections is not political, but health related. On October 15, he was taking stock of the increased water level by boarding a steamer in the Ganges river. At that time the steamer collided with the pillar of the bridge. He suffered stomach and leg injuries. Doctors have advised him to avoid exhausting travel. Therefore, it is not possible for them to participate in the election campaign.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will stay away from the campaign of Mokama and Gopalganj Assembly By-Election in Bihar. In both these seats, the candidates of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), an ally of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United (JDU) in the Grand Alliance, are in the fray. In the special discussion is Neelam Devi, wife of Anant Singh, who was the Bahubali MLA from Mokama seat, for whom JDU National President Lalan Singh is campaigning. There were speculations about Nitish Kumar campaigning for Neelam Devi, which has now come to an end.
Polling for the Gopalganj and Mokama assembly by-elections is on November 3. The election campaign is to be held by the evening of November 1. JDU does not have candidates in both the constituencies. RJD candidates are contesting on behalf of the Grand Alliance. There is a direct competition with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in both the places.
