Bihar Assembly Elections 2020: Voting in three phases on Oct 28, Nov 3 and 7; results on Nov 10
The total number of Assembly Constituencies in the State of Bihar is 243 which include 38 reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two for the Scheduled Tribes, as determined by the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.

Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the 2020 General Elections to State Legislative Assembly of Bihar.
The total number of Assembly Constituencies in the State of Bihar is 243 which include 38 reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two for the Scheduled Tribes, as determined by the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.
The term of the current Legislative Assembly is due to expire on November 29. Due to Covid-19, the ECI has also released a broad guideline to be followed during entire election processes for all persons.
It says that every person shall wear a face mask during every election-related activity. At the entry of hall/room/premises used for election purposes, thermal scanning of all persons shall be carried out. Sanitizer shall be made available at all locations.
"Social distancing shall be maintained as per the extant COVID-19 guidelines of the State Govt. and Ministry of Home Affairs. As far as practicable, large halls should be identified and utilized to ensure social distancing norms," it says.
It adds, "Adequate number of vehicles shall be mobilized for movement of polling personnel, security personnel to ensure compliance of COVID-19 guidelines."
The guideline also deals with electoral rolls, photo voter slip, identification of voters at the polling stations among others.
