“Biggest Tax Cuts in History”: President Trump said the Republican controlled House is “unified” and will pass his big tax and spending bill, the “Big Beautiful Bill”, the “Biggest Tax Cuts in History” today.
It’s a big gamble to meet his self-imposed July 4 deadline.
Trump’s massive, multi-trillion-dollar tax and spending bill, the “Big, Beautiful Bill”, extends and expands his tax cuts. Critics say it will mainly benefit corporations and the super-rich, kick millions off Medicaid and food assistance, and add at least $3.3 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years.
The president has pulled out all the stops to get the deficit hawks to fall in line, including posing for photos, handing out signed swag, and charming holdouts in his party.

“It looks like the House is ready to vote tonight. We had GREAT conversations all day, and the Republican House Majority is UNITED, for the Good of our Country, delivering the Biggest Tax Cuts in History and MASSIVE Growth. Let’s go, Republicans, and everyone else - MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Before the vote, Trump met with the Freedom Caucus – a group of conservative Republican members in the House – at the White House and gave them many assurances, Rep. Tim Burchett told the press.

Burchett said the meeting lasted about two hours and Trump and Vice President JD Vance answered questions from the skeptical members about the bill, including questions about Medicaid.
“He answered a lot of my questions,” Burchett said, adding that he’s since talked to the president on the phone. “I still am not sure. I’m leaning in favour of the course,” Burchett said.
The bill fulfills many of Donald Trump’s campaign promises, increases military spending, funds a mass deportation drive, and commits $4.5 trillion to extend his first-term tax relief.
