He had said that every household in Punjab would now get 300 units of free electricity every month from July 1. The government is fully prepared to make financial arrangements for the expenditure on this scheme. Education is also being emphasized in this budget.

In Punjab, the budget for school and higher education was increased by 16 percent. There was an increase of 47 percent in the technical education budget and 57 percent in the medical education budget. It was also announced that estate managers would be appointed for the maintenance of schools in Punjab. Estate managers will be appointed in the government schools of Punjab so that the principal can focus only on the work related to education.
