Big decision in Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid dispute, court commissioner appointed to examine evidence
There is a dispute over the ownership of 13.37 acres of land. In this, 10.9 acres of land is near the birthplace of Shri Krishna and 2.5 acres near the Shahi Idgah Mosque. Hindus claim that Aurangzeb had built mosques there by demolishing temples in Kashi and Mathura.

In the dispute between Mathura's Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah mosque, the civil judge has appointed the court commissioner while giving a historic verdict. The court commissioner will examine the evidence in the mosque premises and submit its report to the court by January 20. Civil Judge Senior Division, Sonika Verma has given this decision on the petition of the Hindu side. National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta and Vice President Surjit Yadav had filed a civil case on 8 December 2022.
Aurangzeb had destroyed the Vishwanath temple in Kashi in 1669 and in 1670 issued an order to demolish the temple of Bhagwa Keshavdev in Mathura. After this, the Gyanvapi Mosque in Kashi and the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura were built.
On the other hand, on the matter related to the Shahi Idgah mosque, the counsel for the Muslim side said that the temple trust has never objected to the old agreement of 1968 and outsiders are filing petitions on this matter. Shahi Idgah Trust's Advocate Tanveer Ahmed says that it is very strange that the Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust and the Sansthan have not yet taken any stand on the matter, while the Hindu petitioners have made them a party.
