There has been another major arrest in the West Bengal SSC scam. CBI has arrested Shanti Prasad Sinha, former advisor of SSC. Former minister Partha Chatterjee along with his aide Arpita Mukherjee has already been arrested in this case. Over Rs 50 crore cash has been recovered from Arpita's flat. At the same time, on Wednesday, the West Bengal Police detained Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members who were protesting against the state government over the SSC scam in Kolkata.

West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar called on President Draupadi Murmu today. During this, he has also handed over a letter related to the law and order situation of West Bengal to the President. Majumdar said, law and order has collapsed in West Bengal. The people living in the government are indulging in corruption. In such a situation, your dynamic leadership is needed to protect the interests of lakhs of poor citizens of West Bengal.
Majumdar said, West Bengal is in a state of anarchy. Crores have been confiscated from the close aide of the government minister. In such a situation, action should be taken in the state as per the constitution. He said, the name of TMC leader Anubrata Mandal has cropped up in the animal smuggling case. Apart from this, TMC leaders Abhishek Banerjee, Shaukat Molla, Paresh Adhikari are under the scanner of CBI and ED. He said, the Mamata Banerjee government is unable to get the law enforced in West Bengal. TMC MLA did not appear before CBI in cattle smuggling case. Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal once again did not appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation in the cattle smuggling case. Giving the reason for the illness, he expressed his inability to appear before the authorities. “We have received a letter from Anubrata Mandal informing us about her inability to appear in the office. In the letter, Mandal has written that he is on bed as per doctor's advice and cannot go out of his residence. They have attached two copies of doctors' prescriptions and requested us to give them two weeks' time to come to our office. The prescriptions submitted by Mandal belong to the doctors of SSKM Hospital and Bolpur Hospital in the city. The CBI had on Tuesday summoned Mandal to come to its office for questioning in connection with the probe, but he did not appear before the authorities.
