There is news of a tragic accident in Pakistan. It is reported that 17 passengers died after a fire broke out in a bus here. According to the information, a sudden fire broke out in a bus in Sindh district of Pakistan, due to which 17 people in the bus were burnt alive. The incident took place on Wednesday in Nooriabad town, about 90 km from Karachi. Pak officials confirmed that at least 17 people were killed and 20 others injured when a bus going to Khairpur Nathan Shah area caught fire on the highway near Nooriabad on Wednesday evening. Eight children are also included among those who died in the incident.
Police said the intercity bus was carrying over 50 flood victims, who were staying in makeshift shelters in Karachi. All of them were returning to their homes in flood-hit Khairpur Nathan Shah when the accident happened. The bus suddenly caught fire on the M-9 motorway near Nooriabad and near Jamshoro and Hyderabad, the official said. At present, the bodies of the dead have been sent for post-mortem and the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Pakistani police said that the cause of the fire is not yet officially known. By the way, according to media reports, the fire is said to be caused by a defect in the air-conditioning system of the coach, which engulfed the entire bus. It is feared that the death toll may increase. Sindh Parliamentary Health Secretary Qasim Soumro confirmed the death toll, saying that at least 12 of the victims were minors, aged 15 years or less. All the passengers on the bus were residents of the same village of Khairpur Nathan Shah. Some passengers jumped from the bus to escape the fire.
